Along with high gas prices, it's getting more expensive to move commodities by truck and rail.

Bob Zelenka of the Minnesota Grain and Feed Association said as the price of diesel fuel increases, more surcharges are added.

"So our freight rates are getting very high," said Zelenka. "When you add the cost of the commodities that have gone up substantially over the last six months, our goods -- even though you have a weak dollar, our goods are getting more and more expensive all the time."

The current cost of diesel fuel in Minnesota is averaging around $3.60 per gallon.

Zelenka said high commodity prices, combined with the weak dollar, are adding a lot of expense to the cost of doing business in Minnesota.
