The 2008 Major League Baseball season is underway. The Boston Red Sox beat the Oakland A's this morning at a game in Tokyo. There are still several days before the season starts for most other teams.

The Minnesota Twins open their season Monday at the dome. They'll take on the Los Angeles Angels in the annual ritual that signals that spring is returning to these parts, even if the game is played indoors.

The Twins have been working outdoors in sunny Fort Meyers, Florida, for weeks now.

"All Things Considered's" regular medical analyst Dr. Jon Hallberg was there too.

Dr. Hallberg spent 12 seasons on the Twins medical staff, as a doctor in their employee assistance program.

Dr. Hallberg, back from Florida, joined Tom Crann.
