After hundreds of miles, e-mails and eager people Ann Reed's quest to write a new song for Minnesota is over. Or is it?
The journey was part of Minnesota Public Radio's Troubadour series of concerts with Ann traveling all over the state to perform, meet listeners, and gather suggestions for what should be included in a song about the state for it's sesquicentennial.
On May 3, 2008 Ann got together some of her favorite musicians to present a concert that was the culmination of the tour. Joining Ann on stage were Dan Chouinard, Joan Griffith, Leslie Ball, Dylan Fresco, Diane Jarvi, and The Neeconis Women Singers. The result was an evening of great music that included not one, but several songs written by Ann on her mission.
You can listen to the entire concert, or to three of Ann's songs: "Hey Minnesota," "Where the Earth is Round," and "I Like My State."
