Memorial Day 1992

It was the families first year in Minnesota. After the winter finally broke, we were looking forward to enjoying the summer of 1992 and engaging with the new neighbors. A gathering for the new home owners was planned for Memorial Day.

I remember a few of the men, including myself, were shivering on the golf course at mid afternoon, as the temperature hovered in the 40s. This was supposed to be the unofficial start of summer? I had moved up from Indianapolis where the mercury could climb close to 90 degrees and corn was close to knee high by the end of May.

Recalling the weather on Memorial Day in the Twin Cities

The summer of 1992 never did warm up much, as I recall! Enjoy your Holiday Weekend to honor the memory of those who proudly served and continue to serve our country.
