In his weekly weather commentary, University of Minnesota meteorologist and climatologist Mark Seeley comments on a number of subjects including the recent flooding in several Midwestern states.

In a conversation with Minnesota Public Radio's Cathy Wurzer, Seeley says flood impacts are far-reaching and may linger throughout the summer.

Commodity price fluctuations are likely to be amplified by weather conditions throughout the balance of the growing season.

Some fields have been lost to flooding, as analysts have estimated that between 7 and 20 percent of the nation's corn acreage has been affected by high water.
