While portions of east central Minnesota are being left high and dry due to a lack of summer rainfall, Tropical Storm Fay dumped a summer's worth of precipitation on south Florida in the past thirty-six hours.
Steering currents are very weak, which is often the case for projecting the path of the center of the tropical storm. But the Hurricane Center believes the computer models track of taking Fay to the west on Thursday and Friday.
Potential rainfall Thursday through Saturday
Meanwhile, the next best chance for measurable precipitation for the Twin Cities appears to come very late Thursday and into Friday. River and stream flow continues to run low at uncontrolled locations in east central Minnesota.
