Local bankers work to calm customer fears

The financial crisis that has brought the nation's biggest investment banks to their knees is creating an image problem for banks far away from Wall Street.

At the First State Bank of Murdock, Minn., bankers are having to calm their customers' fears about the safety of bank accounts. The bank is one of the smallest in Minnesota and is located on Main Ave. in Murdock, which is 19 miles northwest of Willmar.

Minnesota Public Radio's Tom Crann talked to the bank's president Don Collins about how the economic uncertainty is playing out in Murdock, and how he compares his bank to the once-mighty giants of Wall Street.
