The major party candidates for Minnesota's U.S. Senate seat debate for the third time Thursday night in the Weber Music Hall on the campus of the University of Minnesota Duluth.

The latest polls show a close race between incumbent Republican Norm Coleman and DFL challenger Al Franken. Independence Party candidate Dean Barkley is in the race as well, polling at near 20 percent.

Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer spoke with key strategists from each campaign. Cullen Sheehan is the campaign manager for Sen. Norm Coleman, Andy Barr is Al Franken's communications director, and Chris Truscott holds that position with the Barkley campaign.
