The nation readies for a crucial transition in its political history: the swearing-in of Barack Obama as president. The new president comes in with a promise of change, but faces a daunting array of challenges. The state of our economy tops this list.

Minnesota Public Radio news used its Public Insight Network to convene Minnesotans on the subject of the new presidency and the current economy. About 80 people attended. The overarching question: What economic fixes should the U.S. government pursue, and why?
