Guard deployment ceremonies to be held in Duluth, Chisolm

The Minnesota National Guard will host two ceremonies this weekend for 180 troops who will leave the state for a one-year deployment in Afghanistan.

The soldiers, who belong to the Duluth-based 114th Transportation Company, will provide convoy security and ground transportation for supplies to troops throughout Afghanistan.

The company is headquartered in Duluth with a detachment in Chisholm, Minn.

The deployment ceremonies will take place on Sunday and Monday.

Sunday's ceremony begins at 3:30 p.m. at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.

Monday's ceremony begins place at 5 p.m. at Chisholm High School, 301 4th St SW, Balkan.
