Once upon a time, a man met a woman, they fell in love, started singing together, added some friends and started a band. Even though it sounds like Johnny Cash and June Carter, or even Sonny and Cher, we're talking about the Roe Family Singers.

Quillen and Kim Roe started as a duo and have added a long list of musicians to their roster to play what they call "good time old-time hillbilly band". Currently, the band is nine members strong and somehow fits on the stage at the 331 Club in Minneapolis every Monday night.

The band recently released "The Earth and All That Is In It" and stopped by the Radio Heartland studio for a visit. (If you listen closely, you might even hear the voice of Quillen and Kim's baby Elspeth!)

Songs performed: "The One Who Loves Me", "The Buckeye Tree" and "My Heart Took To The Earth"
