Sally Barris is probably more well known as a songwriter than a performer. She's a Minnesota native, but lives in Nashville and gets a lot of attention as a writer.

She's been working for Wrensong Publishing and had one of her songs nominated for a Grammy recently, but is wasn't performed by her - Trisha Yearwood got the nod.

Sally didn't consider herself a full-time musician till one day on a visit to the Homestead Pickin' Parlor in Richfield. The music and musicians there, and the overall mood of the music moved her to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter. Sally is back in Minnesota this month for a few performances. She stopped in the Radio Heartland studios to chat. Songs performed: "My Love Loves the Ocean," "Huntington River," and "Let the Wind Chase You."
