Dr. Jon Hallberg, our regular medical analyst joined Tom Crann this week to talk about the value of diagnosis.

Even as thousands of people come down with what they think is the H1N1 flu, very few are actually getting diagnosed. That's because doctors say -- in most cases -- a clear diagnosis wouldn't make a difference in the way people treat the symptoms.

But there's another recent medical story that got Jon thinking about diagnosis. New research into chronic fatigue syndrome indicates that the condition may be connected to a virus. That could make the condition easier to positively diagnose.
