The DFL Party submitted a letter today to the Minnesota Campaign Finance Board detailing their take on Margaret Anderson Kelliher's use of a DFL voter database.
In the letter, DFL Executive Director Andy O'Leary wrote that he gave the Kelliher for governor campaign bad information. O'Leary said he told Kelliher's campaign manager that it was ok to direct contributors to the DFL to pay for Kelliher's use of the DFL voter database. Both O'Leary and Kelliher's campaign realized later that the process was illegal.
The Minnesota Republican Party filed a campaign finance complaint over the issue. Kelliher said on Friday that directing contributors to the DFL was "a mistake" and she'll accept any penalties imposed by the board.
