This report comes from the home office - my home office - and I'm typing this while icing my back from shoveling. Take that as a warning.
Between temperatures running between 28-34 degrees and fresh accumulation last night, the snow in the Twin Cities is wet, heavy, and a pain to shovel. More is on the way.
That little note says 3-5 inches. MPR's Weather page for the metro area is a bit more optimistic, predicting 2-4:

Snow...sleet and intermittent rain. Snow and sleet accumulation of 2 to 4 inches. Nearly steady temperatures 30 to 35. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph.
The possible sleet/snow mix and slightly lower temps may make it icy going. We'll have to see if some weather forecasters drop off News Cut's Golden Snowball Challenge.
Based on my personal experience this morning the ground beneath the snow is slippery and traction is very poor. If you must travel, travel with care. Shoveling? Well, I'm the one icing my back and there's bound to be a round three of lift & heft.
