Lucky Duluth, or not

Here is an image of the storm total snowfall as posted from the Duluth National Weather Service. The temperature of the open waters of Lake Superior was about 35 degrees. The open water of the Lake, with the east winds down the fetch of the Lake likely enhanced the moisture supply somewhat.

On the other hand, the relatively milder temperature of the Lake water gave a little boost to the thermometer to mix the snow with sleet and rain along the North Shore.

Travel safely and watch for slick spots regardless of main highways or side streets.
