St. Paul police say they haven't been able to identify a pedestrian critically injured after being hit by a car near the Mississippi River late Wednesday night.
Police Spokesman Paul Schnell says the man walked into the street near Warner Road and Jackson Street, and was hit by a vehicle that had the right of way.
"Since the time of the crash, we have not been able to identify or talk to him, due to the fact that he has been unconscious and our efforts at this time are simply to ascertain his identity to we can notify family members about his condition," he said.
The victim is a black male likely in his late 40's to late 50's. He weighs between 180 and 190 pounds, and has short hair. He was wearing wire rimmed glasses, a red shirt and blue jeans over red basketball shorts.
Investigators are asking anyone who knows who he might be to call St. Paul police.
