The St. Louis County Sheriff's office on Monday plans to release more information about a weekend shooting in which a state trooper shot a man during a confrontation in northern Minnesota.
Authorities responded to reports of a man shooting into a home north of Buhl, and they followed the suspect to his nearby home on Highway 25. The St. Louis County Sheriff's office said the suspect confronted police with a gun, and reportedly fired at least one shot.
A State Patrol trooper was among the officers who responded to the incident, and shot and wounded the suspect. The suspect died later.
St. Louis County authorities are not identifying the suspect, the trooper or the victims of the original shooting call. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was called to document the crime scene, but St. Louis County is handling the investigation.
Officials there said they plan to release more information about the incident at 2 p.m.
