Minnesota-made beach cleaning machines help in gulf

Machines made in Minnesota, are being used to clean up beaches affected by the Gulf Coast oil spill. Cherrington Beach Cleaners, which are manufactured in Clarissa, Minnesota, skim and filter sand that is contaminated with oil. British Petroleum purchased six of the beach cleaners and they are currently being used in Grand Isle, Louisiana. Mike McPherson is the Vice-President of Sales for Cherrington and he is in Grand Isle over-seeing the operation there. He talked to Morning Edition's Cathy Wurzer.
