The League of Minnesota Cities announced today that Richard Brainerd, a city council member from Mahtomedi, was elected as the organization's president for the next year.
The vote took place at the League's annual conference in St. Cloud. Brainerd takes succeeds Rochester Mayor Ardell Brede as president. Brainerd previously served as First Vice-President and currently chairs the Future of the League Task Force.
The League of Minnesota Cities has more than 830 members.
