Monticello resident dies after falling in to Lake Nokomis
A man, 19, who fell into Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis has died.
The Hennepin County medical examiner's office says Pedro Luis Ajete, of Monticello, was pronounced dead at the Hennepin County Medical Center at about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.
County sheriff's department spokeswoman Lisa Kiava says the man was sitting on the edge of a fishing pier when he fell in Monday afternoon. She says a passer-by helped the victim's friend pull him out, but he was under water for several minutes.
She says he wasn't breathing when he was pulled out. No foul play is suspected.
