Funeral date set for dentist killed in Afghanistan

The family of a Minnesota native killed while volunteering his medical services in Afghanistan has set funeral plans.

Tim Grams says the body of his brother, Dr. Thomas Grams, is in transit between Afghanistan and Dover, Del., where it will be autopsied by the FBI before being released to the family.

He says the funeral will be at 10 a.m., Aug. 28 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Park Rapids, Minn.

Grams gave up his practice in Colorado about four years ago to tend to poor children in Afghanistan, India and Nepal. Grams was among 10 killed in an ambush last week.

A Christian charity group said Thursday that it now believes militants killed its medical team. The group's leader had originally suspected robbers.
