Police say they fear a Lindstrom man fishing on Big Marine Lake near Scandia may have fallen overboard and gone missing.

The Washington County Sheriff said searchers are looking for Robert Waters, 64, in the lake after his boat was found running around a bay there, unoccupied on Wednesday evening.

Witnesses reported the craft to authorities and another boater managed to board and get control of the boat just before dark on Wednesday. Sheriff's deputies and divers searched Wednesday night and most of Thursday for Waters, after his hat was found in the lake.

They're expected to resume the search today. Authorities said Waters family believe he'd been fishing at the time his boat was found, and that they're fairly certain Waters is in the lake, although no one actually saw what happened to him.
