Gov. Pawlenty, who has repeatedly ripped federal spending, decided to take $260 million in federal cash. Pawlenty's chief financial officer also announced the state will take several steps to keep the state with a positive cash flow. K12 schools, the U of M and MnSCU and corporate and sales tax refunds higher than $5,000 will be delayed.
