Brig. Gen. David Elicerio has been named the new commander of the 34th Red Bull Infantry Division of the Minnesota National Guard.

Elicerio takes over from Maj. Gen. Richard Nash, who's been named commander of the Minnesota National Guard.

"I am humbled. The Red Bulls have a long and proud history and I couldn't be more honored to lead the fine men and women of this organization," said Elicerio.

Elicerio has been a member of the Minnesota National Guard since 1980. He has served in several senior staff positions and commanded troop units in Bosnia and Iraq.
