Activists to ask Sen. Klobuchar to denounce fed subpoenas

A coalition of liberal activists will hold a demonstration outside the office of Sen. Amy Klobuchar to register opposition to a federal investigation into anti-war activists.

More than a dozen activists have been subpoenaed by a Chicago grand jury looking into allegations of material support of terrorists. As part of the investigation, FBI agents searched seven houses and an office in Minneapolis last month.

Activists say they are being harassed and those who were subpoenaed are refusing to testify. A delegation of Tuesday's demonstrators, which will include representatives from peace and justice, labor, religious and student organizations, plan to call on Klobuchar to speak out against what the activists call "harassment and intimidation of her constituents."
