Nasty East Coast weather cancels MSP flights

Air Travelers may face trouble if they're headed to the East Coast Tuesday.

Many flights are being canceled as a big storm heads up the East Coast and Atlanta struggles to recover from the crippling storm. Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport spokesman Patrick Hogan said travelers should be prepared to change their plans.

"A lot of flights have had a change in itinerary and even cancellations and delays," Hogan said. "If you're going to be flying to or from the East Coast in particular, make sure you check with your airline before you come to the airport."

Delta has canceled more than 1,400 flights system-wide due to extreme snow and ice in Atlanta and the severe winter storm heading up the East Coast. Delta says customers can change flights free of charge to avoid the storm. AirTran is also allow free changes in flight plans.
