Two fatal accidents reported in Twin Cities

Authorities are investigating two fatal accidents in the Twin Cities. The most recent was the result of a hit and run in Minneapolis at about 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Authorities say a driver had walked down the ramp that leads from westbound Interstate 94 to Riverside Avenue and was apparently filling a car there with gas when an oncoming vehicle struck and killed him. The State Patrol says it has little information on the car that fled.

In another incident, authorities say they've found the body of a missing elderly Roseville woman. Ramsey County Sheriff's Department spokesman Randy Gustafson said that the family of 83-year-old Marcella Boerger found her minivan in a wooded area off of Hamline Avenue and County Road F in Arden Hills.

Gustafson said the woman was found dead in the vehicle, with the windows rolled up, the doors locked and her seat belt on. She was last seen Sunday night.

"Early indications are that it was probably a medical condition that caused the accident," he said.

The Ramsey County medical examiner is investigating her death.
