Best Buy's chief marketing officer, Barry Judge, has resigned, in the third high-profile departure at the consumer electronics retailer in recent months.
The company has not yet indicated a reason for Judge's resignation. A source with knowledge of the situation said Judge's departure was amicable and not related to the investigation and exit of former CEO Brian Dunn. The source said Judge indicated he was ready to move on to something different.
Dunn resigned last month, as the company's board investigated Dunn's personal conduct. A member of the company's board is serving as interim CEO.
In March, Geek Squad founder Robert Stephens left the company, saying he wanted to focus on creating new companies.
Stephen Gillett, a former Starbucks executive who joined Best Buy this year, will now lead the retailer's marketing efforts.
