Medtronic job growth moving outside MN

Medtronic says its employment in the Twin Cities and the rest of Minnesota will fall by about 250 jobs.

That figure includes some 220 Twin Cities job cuts previously announced. But the Fridley-based medical device maker expects total worldwide employment will grow by about 500 jobs this year, as the company it shifts resources to high-growth markets and products.

Medtronic has about 8,000 employees in Minnesota to 45,000 worldwide.
