Record Wet May for Some Observers

The wet Memorial Weekend pushed up May rainfall totals for some observers to record-setting levels. Among those who have reported new monthly rainfall records for May:

Pipestone with 10.54 inches

Windom with 10.38 inches

Lamberton with 9.87 inches

New Ulm with 11.95 inches

Milaca with 10.46 inches

Forest Lake with 11.29 inches

Chanhassen with 11.19 inches

Chaska with 10.61 inches

On a statewide basis May of 2012 ranks among the wettest in state history with average values of rainfall nearly 6 inches so far.
