Wisconsin voters are in the national spotlight today, after their governor, Scott Walker, survived a high profile recall election.

The election pitted Walker against the Democratic mayor of Milwaukee, Tom Barrett. The race attracted millions of dollars from out of state, campaign volunteers from across the country, and months of concentrated attention from the two major political parties.

Morning Edition host Cathy Wurzer discussed recall history with Joshua Spivak, Senior Fellow at the Hugh L. Carey Institute for Government Reform at Wagner College and author of The Recall Elections Blog.
