Power back on in downtown Mpls

Power has been restored in downtown Minneapolis after a cable failure led to a fire in an underground electric vault.

Xcel Energy says about one-third of the area's customers were affected as the company took down power to assess the damage and decide on repairs.

Spokesman Tom Hoen says power was out for about 60 to 90 minutes.

Xcel says power is back on to the most of the area, but some buildings may still be without power as managers reset their systems.
