Officials with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Council 5 have endorsed incumbent state Rep. Greg Davids, R-Preston, in his re-election bid in House District 28B.
Davids, who is chair of the House tax committee, is seeking an 11th non-consecutive term in the Minnesota House. He's running against former DFL representative Ken Tschumper of LaCresent.
In a news release issued today, AFSCME Minnesota Council 5 Director Eliot Seide praised Davids.
"We're proud to support Greg Davids because he cares about working families," Seide wrote. "Greg has worked hard to bring good jobs to southeast Minnesota. Even though Greg doesn't always agree with us, his door is always open to everyone in the district. He knows that it takes bipartisan collaboration to reach common sense outcomes."
AFSCME Council 5 boasts a membership of 43,000.
