Dozens of flights out of Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport have been cancelled already because of the approach of Hurricane Sandy.
Airports across the northeastern part of the country have closed because of the high winds and rough weather expected with the storm. But airport spokesman Pat Hogan says that travelers heading towards other destinations may be affected, as well.
"Even if you're not flying to that part of the country, we do recommend that you do check with your airline before you head to the airport, because some of the aircraft have been displaced, they're not at the airports they would normally be at because of the storm," he said.
Hogan says the cancellations and schedule disruptions are expected to last at least through tomorrow.
