Minneapolis police are investigating the deaths of two men found dead just a mile apart on the North Side this weekend.
Police said the found the first victim in the alley on the 3300 block of Girard Avenue about 11 p.m. Saturday. Police say that he died there of an unspecified assault.
On Sunday night, they were called to an alley just nine blocks away, on Dupont Avenue shortly after 10 p.m. They found another man dead there -- this time from apparent gunfire.
Although they're only a short distance apart, it's unclear if the two incidents in the city's 4th precinct are related. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has yet to identify either victim or specify the cause of death in either case.
