Late this afternoon a burst of snow, reducing visibilities to a half mile, was moving through central Minnesota. This snow band should pass through the Twin Cities between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Watch for changing weather conditions and slick roads.

Meanwhile, cold winds gusting to over 30 mph will drop wind chill readings into the teens and single digits overnight.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through tonight for an area roughly from Bemidji to Duluth north to International Falls and Grand Marais. As the snow accumulates during the darkness hours roads will become extremely slick and hazardous.
Snow accumulations in northeast Minnesota may reach 2 to 5 inches by Friday morning.
Gusty winds and much colder temperatures will greet early morning shoppers on Friday. Wind chill readings will be in the single digits.
