This weekend looks practically balmy compared to the past week, so rather than huddle indoors under a blanket, how about getting out and enjoying some of the many cultural events on offer? Here's just a sampling:
1. Powderhorn Park Art Sled Rally
Now in its 6th year, the Art Sled Rally encourages people to come up with their most creative sled vehicle, and test it out on the western slopes of Powderhorn Park in Minneapolis. The even starts at 2pm, and whether you're participating, or just cheering the contestants on, it's bound to be a lot of fun.

One Voice Mixed Chorus

One Voice Mixed Chorus, a choral ensemble made of GLBT and allies, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this Saturday at the Cowles Center in Minneapolis. The two performances will feature music from "musicals with lyrics tweaked to switch genders, songs of struggle for belonging, traditional choral music, and large doses of humor." The concert will also include dances by Kairos Dance, a company that features dancers of all ages and abilities(Editor's note: Stay tuned! Kairos Dance founder Maria Genne is our Art Hero this month and will be featured on All Things Considered this coming Monday).
Mu Performing Arts presents the world premiere of Lauren Yee's latest play, with a topic that hits close to home. The Tiger Among Us looks at the cultural isolation felt by a Hmong American family living in rural Minnesota, and how two siblings attempt to blend traditional Hmong values with modern life. Performances run through February 10 at Mixed Blood Theatre in Minneapolis.
