The stadium authority charged with building the Vikings a new home in Minneapolis will make an announcement next Friday regarding the builder of the new stadium.
Three large construction firms submitted offers to work on the project, including Target Field builder Mortenson Construction.
Stadium authority chairwoman Michele Kelm-Helgen said they are still talking to the contenders in hopes of hammering out a final offer.
"We have a regularly scheduled board meeting on Feb. 8, and we will be on track to make a decision at that meeting," Kelm-Helgen said. "We will have a vote on the 8th and a public announcement of who the construction firm will be."
Plans call for a groundbreaking on the $975 million stadium project in October. The Vikings are scheduled to play the 2016 season in the new facility.
