Police: missing woman's DNA found on jacket in ex-boyfriend's car

Police in Eden Prairie say ballistics testing shows an unfired bullet discovered Saturday belonged to the former boyfriend of a woman missing since last week.

Mandy Matula, 24, was last seen Wednesday night with David Roe. Matula's family reported her missing Thursday morning when she didn't show up for work.

When police called Roe in for questioning that day, he shot himself and later died.

Eden Prairie police say the bullet that searchers found near Miller Park was at some point in the chamber of the gun Roe used on himself.

Police also say analysis shows the presence of Matula's DNA in a blood sample from a jacket found in Roe's vehicle.

Authorities say they're searching specific areas in Eden Prairie, Carver, and Stearns counties based on evidence collected from Roe's vehicle, cellphone and computer.
