In Dodge County the Friends of Wasioja present Civil War Days with battle reenactments, living history presentation, a performance of the "1812 Overture" with cannons, and more.
Speaking with MPR News is Don Smith with the Friends of Wasioja.
• Wasioja Civil War Days start Saturday morning and run through Sunday afternoon. The battle reenactments take place in locations around Wasioja, west of Mantorville and north of Dodge Center. The Mill Run Battle and Antietam reenactments on Saturday and Gettysburg on Sunday. Other events include living history presentations, children's games, historical displays and dances.
• The Perham Turtle Fest marathon starts Saturday and runs through next weekend.
• The Little Falls Dam Festival continues the turtle theme with turtle races. There's also a parade on Saturday and water ski show on Sunday.
