Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar is making plans for the Senate's August recess and those plans are getting attention because she's heading to Iowa.

Klobuchar will be the keynote speaker at the North Iowa Democrats' "Wing Ding" Fundraiser, which takes place at the famous Surf Ballroom on August 16.

Even two and a half years before the next Iowa presidential caucus, a visit from an out-of-state politician raises speculation about a possible run for president. And eyes have been on Klobuchar at least since at least last summer, when she spoke in front of Iowa delegates at the Democratic National Convention.

On Sunday, the Washington Post listed Klobuchar as one of 10 Democrats with the best shot at being the party's 2016 nominee.

Cathy Wurzer talked with Dennis Goldford, Professor of Politics at Drake University in Des Moines, who is an expert on Presidential politics in Iowa. He's co-author of the book "The Iowa Precinct Caucuses: the Making of a Media Event."
