Gov. Dayton, Mayor Rybak to speak today on orchestra lockout

UPDATE: Weather worries prompted Dayton and Rybak to postpone their 11:30 a.m. press conference to later in the day. Stay tuned.

Gov. Mark Dayton and Minneapolis Mayor R. T. Rybak will hold a press conference today to make statements on the Minnesota Orchestra.

They'll be speaking just outside the newly renovated Orchestra Hall.

No word yet from the governor's office on what exactly he and the mayor will have to say.

The nearly year-long lockout is approaching important deadlines by which a deal would be needed to keep famed music director Osmo Vanska from resigning.

Earlier this week there appeared to be a shift in the standoff between musicians and management in the dispute.
