Minneapolis vocal ensemble VocalEssence has had to move the first concert of its 45th season out of the newly remodeled Orchestra Hall, thanks to the ongoing lockout of the musicians of the Minnesota Orchestra.
The concert, titled "There Was a Child," is being moved to Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis to respect the union obligations of the 50 musicians who are performing with them. The concert takes place at 4 p.m. Oct. 27.
The Twin Cities Musicians' Union, which has forbid its members to perform at Orchestra Hall until a labor agreement has been reached between the Minnesota Orchestral Association and the Musicians of the Minnesota Orchestra.
