Minnetonka police have released the names of the officers who fatally shot a man at an apartment complex last week.
Michael Tray, 27, of Austin, Minn., died Oct. 23 in the parking garage of the Claremont Apartments.
Minnetonka police say Officers James Comings and Ryan Smith were called to the building on a report of a person with a gun. Authorities say shots were fired after they encountered a man with a firearm.
Tray died at the scene.
The two officers have been on the police force for about a year and a half. Neither has had any citizen complaints or disciplinary action, police said.
Both officers are on standard administrative leave and will return to work Wednesday.
Hundreds of people attended Tray's visitation late Monday and his funeral this morning, a family member said.
