, a small museum about an hour north of New York City, has hired Walker Art Center Chief Curator Darsie Alexander to be its next director.

According to the KMA, she will assume her new role March 1.

Her last major project with the Walker, "International Pop," opens in Minneapolis in 2015.

Alexander joined the Walker in 2009, not long after her husband David Little was hired to curate the Minneapolis Institute of Arts' photography department.

According to the MIA, Little is staying on "for the foreseeable future" and the couple has plenty of experience making long commutes for family and work.
