A 17-year-old male is dead after he was shot early Sunday in Minneapolis.
Police were called to the 1600 block of Newton Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. on a report of a shooting.
"Officers arrived, located a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound lying in the grass boulevard. Was transported to the hospital and just recently succumbed to those wounds," said Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder.
The victim died Sunday afternoon at the Hennepin County Medical Center.
Police have interviewed witnesses and neighbors. No arrests have been made.
