One worker was killed, another injured while helping build a power line in rural Renville County.
The victims were working on the CapX2020 Brookings County-Hampton power line, a 250-mile transmission project stretching from South Dakota to the suburban Twin Cities.
They were flown by helicopter to Twin Cities trauma centers, where one victim died from his injuries, according to the Renville County Sheriff's Office, which is investigating the incident along with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.
The names of the victims have not been released. They worked for Donovan Construction, a contractor out of St. Paul.
"The utility extends its condolences to the family of the accident victim and our thoughts are with the worker being treated," said Lori Buffington, a spokesperson for CapX2020.
