July 30, 2014: Mendota Heights Police Officer Scott Patrick, 47, was shot in the head during a traffic stop in West St. Paul and died of his wounds.
Feb. 16, 2013: St. Paul Police Officer Josh Lynaugh, 30, died of a heart attack suffered during a foot chase of a juvenile suspect on St. Paul's East Side.
Nov. 29, 2012: Cold Spring Police Officer Tom Decker, 31, was shot and killed in the parking lot behind a downtown bar after being called to check on the welfare of a nearby resident.
Dec. 30, 2011: Lake City Police Officer Shawn Schneider, 32, died after being shot in the head responding to a domestic dispute on Dec. 19.

Nov. 30, 2011: St. Louis Park Police Officer Mike Pollitz, 37, died of a pulmonary embolism after collapsing while answering a call to check on the welfare of a resident.
Aug. 9, 2010: Mahnomen County Sheriff's Deputy Christopher Dewey, 27, died, 18 months after being shot in the head and stomach while responding to a shots fired call in Mahnomen on Feb. 18, 2009
May 1, 2010: Maplewood Police Sgt. Joseph Bergeron, 49, was shot and killed in his squad car when he was ambushed by a carjacking suspect.
Sept. 7, 2009: North St. Paul Police Officer Rick Crittenden, 57, died after being shot in the head by a domestic assault suspect who took his gun on Sept. 7, 2009.
May 29, 2009: Minneapolis Police Officer David Loeffler, 36, died from his injuries from a 1997 accident, when a drunk driver hit him, severing one of his legs.
Nov. 9, 2007: Minneapolis Park Police Officer Mark Bedard, 34, died after he was struck Nov. 1 by a Minneapolis Police squad car while chasing a suspect from a shots fired call.
