Today's Morning Edition music is the song "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" by Elton John. It's a track off his album "Caribou" which was No. 1 the charts 40 years ago this week.

It came out during the peak of Elton John's popularity.

He was under a lot of pressure to release new material and only had 10 days in the middle of a world tour to write and record the album.

The album's title came from the Caribou Ranch in Colorado where most of it was recorded.

This song, which made it to No. 2 on the singles chart, features backing vocals by members of the Beach Boys and Toni Tennille.
